Description

No grid tonight. Collapse was engineered, invited. The harbor’s brine found its path among the fissures—glass scavenged from the city’s own undoing, embedded, unwashed. Pigment pours by gravity, through wind-hardened dusk, halting where the fractures knotted too deep. Each channel stains a memory not of softness, but of pressure, salt, and oxidation. I watch the color seize in the chill, veins closing beneath a crust of mineral silt. Harbor light, spring-thick and particulate, skips across the unruly field—no reflection ever whole. I built nothing here—only corralled debris and let the seepage choose its architecture. The cost was relinquishing the grid, exhaling order, and letting the fracture speak. It’s not autobiography. It’s a tidal datum—pressure logged in mineral and glass, not in story. Sometimes the only trace is a brackish sheen left where a structure once stood.
